As the Indian Ocean goes,
so goes the Pacific,
the Japan, South China, and
Asian Seas.
Alarm ignites across the wires.
“It” is two times bigger

Yet, “It” is not “The One”.
“It” comes from deep grey waters,

So soon, so sudden
earth and trees
are dragged kicking into the sea.
A malignant brown stain
spreads across salty blue.
Dark waters

into a maelstrom of hues.

A fortress squats
in the barren desert.
Soldiers of the East
stand guard outside.
Farmers plant seedlings
fruitlessly in the hot sand.
Their wide pointed straw hats
out of place in this land.
Agony rips the silence.
The air is filled
with a young soldier’s cries.
The obscene laughter of his torturers
rise.
In the distance
a Great Lion appears.
He walks down the high dunes
past the fortress guards,

Between this world and the next,
a Great Veil shimmered with luminous ripples.
Along its length,
